Amanda discovered she had a love of teaching after working as a yoga instructor. Before entering graduate school, she tutored children in Salt Lake City. Amanda has been fortunate to be a part of a variety of school settings, including public, private and charter schools. She has worked at Woodward Academy, Trinity School, Sarah Smith Elementary School and The Intown Academy. Amanda has taught kindergarten and in an early intervention program (EIP), coordinated an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and served as a literacy coach. At FSA, Amanda works both with individual students and groups of students. She also coordinates with teachers to lesson plan for entire classrooms. The best part about her job is seeing students go into places that are difficult for them and witnessing them realize that they can overcome them.
