Elementary School Creative Music, Movement and Drama
At FSA since 1999
BA English – Appalachian State University
Sara spent her first ten years at FSA in elementary school classrooms, having taught every grade but third. She transitioned into teaching music, drama and movement because they are her biggest passions. She loves inspiring children to explore their imagination and to express themselves using music, movement and storytelling. One of her favorite activities is to help her students create plays that they write and perform themselves. She leads the elementary school drama club and a drama camp within the FSA summer camp program. When she isn’t at FSA, Sara enjoys performing concerts for her mother’s elder care community, public improve singing circles and teaching ukulele. Sara considers herself a perennial student. She is currently studying brain education. Her son, Joseph, is a 2004 alumnus of FSA.
