Carolyn has spent most of her years in schools as either a teacher or a student. After relocating to Atlanta, she spent time at home raising her small children. She made the transition from college instructor to middle school teacher upon discovering FSA. Unlike her experience teaching college students for a few months at a time, Carolyn likes that she gets the opportunity to teach the whole student at FSA and to see progress that spans years. She enjoys that middle schoolers are able to take on big questions of life in a way that has not been directed too much by institutions. Her favorite part about teaching language arts to middle schoolers is showing them that they can be the authors giving shape to their own narratives.
