Cate is an educator who has been working with children in the Atlanta area since 2006. She has previously taught at the Lovett School and student-taught in Atlanta Public Schools and City Schools of Decatur. She is a lifelong attender of Atlanta Friends Meeting, and was herself a student at Friends School of Atlanta as a middle schooler. Cate is thrilled to have come home to the FSA community, where she has served as third grade co-teacher since 2014. Cate leads instruction in Math, Social Studies, and SEE Learning. She is particularly passionate about developing third grade’s Social Studies curriculum, a year-long study of Turtle Island that centers Indigenous American voices as it integrates content, experiential learning, and place-based acts of service.
