B.A. Special Education and Learning Disabilities – Georgia Southwestern University
Though she always knew she wanted to be a teacher, Celest decided to specialize in special education after a family member was diagnosed with a learning disability. She began her career at the Davidson School for Speech and Language, where she was awarded the 1992-1993 Teacher of the Year Award. She very much believes in and works to uphold the philosophy of FSA and the SPICES and does her part to contribute to the collaborative work that goes into ensuring the best for each student. Celest believes that honoring and respecting the differences in individuals is needed in every community. In her time away from FSA, she likes to spend time with family and friends, reading, quiet time and walking. She has a special love of animals, particularly small dogs.
