Joanna Gerber began working in the 1st and 2nd grades at FSA and has since been a lead teacher focusing on Science and Language Arts. She continues to teach Science in 1st and 3rd grade and since 2016 has added Environmental Science & Gardening with Pre-K thru 4th grade and a Middle School Garden exploratory to her responsibilities. While at FSA she has been certified in the Complete Reading Series, trained and certified as an Orton Gillingham classroom educator and certified as an Environmental Educator through the North American Association for Environmental Education and the Georgia Environmental Educators Alliance. Always interested in learning and growing, Joanna during 2018 – 2022 added a Master Naturalist (Chattahoochee Nature Center), Master Herpetology (Amphibian Foundation), and Native Plant certificate (UGA Botanical Garden) to her education. Her sons Zane (c/o 2016) and Ben (c/o 2017) are alumni of FSA. Joanna lives in Tucker with her son Ben and stepdaughter Anne, husband Drew and their wonderful dog Felix and cats Axle and Aggie.
