A third generation Atlantan, Laura has spent 30 years working in progressive education in her hometown. Before coming to The Friends School of Atlanta, Laura spent 19 years as a classroom teacher at The Children’s School, where she later served as the principal. She also has worked in admissions, directed a program for learning differences and conducted educational consulting in a private practice. Laura has a particular interest and specialization certification in developing and differentiating curricula for all learners, both neurotypical and neurodiverse. Quaker testimonies, progressive education, and a growth mindset are foundational to her approach to teaching and learning.
