About The Friends School of Atlanta
The Friends School of Atlanta (FSA) is a Quaker school that offers a PreK3 through 8th grade
values-based education that not only helps each child thrive as a student, but also empowers
students with the conscience, conviction and compassion to actively engage in the world as
peacemakers and bridge builders. Founded as a model of diversity in 1991, FSA is one of 78 Friends
(or Quaker) schools nationwide and the only Friends school in Georgia. Beyond excellent academic preparation for high school and college, FSA provides a place for the discovery and use of individual
voices and gifts. It teaches an active and informed sense of social responsibility and the experience
of living and learning in a diverse community of equals. Beyond academic competence, students
learn critical thinking skills and develop the ability to advocate for peace and justice.
Our values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality and stewardship lead us to strive for diversity among students, families, faculty/staff, the Board of Trustees, and in all areas of school life. More than 44 percent of our students are BIPOC. We are committed to hiring and retaining faculty and staff that reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of our student body and our broader Atlanta community. We are also committed to maintaining a school community that is diverse in terms of gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, age, and ability, among other identities. We comply with all applicable laws regarding nondiscrimination. It is the policy of The Friends School of Atlanta not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or on any other basis protected by applicable law. This policy extends to recruitment, employment, promotion, demotion, transfer, layoff, termination, compensation, training, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. We encourage candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply. All candidates should demonstrate dedication to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within our community.
The Friends School of Atlanta is looking for substitute teachers to join our team. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children Prek3-8th grade.
Vaccinations are not required but very strongly encouraged. Currently, masks are optional on campus for faculty/staff, as well as all children, regardless of vaccination status.
