Atlanta Friends Meeting. FSA was founded by members and attendees of the Atlanta Friends Meeting and owes a great debt of gratitude to the Meeting and members for their early and ongoing support, which includes serving on the Board of Trustees. The Friends School of Atlanta is separately incorporated from the Atlanta Friends Meeting as an independent nonprofit educational institution.
Bright from the Start. Bright from the Start, the Georgia Department of Early Care, licenses our PreK3 program. FCE is a national organization that acts as an integrating force in Quaker education, serving in both an advisory and consultative capacity. Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Program. FSA participates in the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Program (GSNSP). After qualifying according to the GSNSP requirements, parents can apply for student admission through the regular application process. Because FSA has limited services to meet special needs, parents need to be clear during the admissions process about their student’s needs. Once accepted, parents will provide a copy of the most recent IEP for FSA to keep on file and follow other requirements as established by the state of Georgia. Students will be required to participate in fall and spring standardized testing as a condition of the program.

Elsie, raised in Bennington, Vermont, has lived in Arizona, California, and Massachusetts before settling here in Atlanta. She has practiced non-profit financial and business management for over 30 years, beginning at Hancock Shaker Village and then Pine Cobble School both in Western Massachusetts. In 2002 she moved to Atlanta to join FSA as Director of Finance and continues to feel blessed to be a part of this school community. The thing that drew her to FSA was a brochure that said, “The Friends School of Atlanta is growing”. In the past 20 years FSA has grown and continues to grow, and it is Elsie’s joy to be a part of it. Using her financial and management skills to support an organization that she believes will make the world a better place is one of the things that gives meaning to her life.
In keeping with our commitment to diversity, The Friends School of Atlanta seeks a student body that represents varied economic backgrounds. Once a student has been accepted for admission, tuition assistance is determined and renewed on the basis of demonstrated financial need without regard to gender identity, race, color, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or family structure.
The tuition assistance program is guided by our belief that parents have an obligation to pay the educational expense of their children to the extent that they are able. The purpose of aid is to fill the gap between the actual cost of a year’s tuition and what a family can realistically be expected to pay. Tuition assistance in one year does not guarantee assistance in subsequent years.
How to apply
To help determine a family’s contribution, we use an outside service that helps us look at the relative needs of all financial assistance applicants. If you are applying for tuition assistance, we strongly recommend that you complete the tuition assistance application as soon as possible. In order to begin the process, all prospective parents are directed to complete the Tuition Assistance Application via Blackbaud’s website. For further details and questions, contact our Director of Finance, Elsie Santway, by phone at 404-373-8746 x8140, or via email at [email protected].
Tuition Assistance applications for the 2024-2015 school year are due on February 5, 2024. Unfortunately, this deadline cannot be extended.
